The 45th International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) was held in Antalya, Türkiye, from 1 to 6 November 2025. The symposium gathered scientists, policymakers, industry representatives, and other stakeholders from around the world to discuss recent advances in POP research, monitoring, and management. The accompanying exhibition area showcased advanced POP measurement technologies, analytical instrumentation, and certified reference materials presented by industrial partners and standard providers.

The Meteorological Synthesizing Centre – East (MSC-E) was represented at the Symposium by Dr. Reza Gholizadeh, who contributed with a poster presentation entitled “Model Assessment of Long-Term Atmospheric Load of Hexachlorobenzene (HCB) to the Baltic Sea”. The poster attracted significant attention from participants, generating detailed discussions and positive feedback on the modelling approach, data interpretation, and graphical presentation. Participation in the Symposium provided a valuable opportunity for scientific exchange and networking, enabling discussions on ongoing MSC-E activities, recent modelling work, and prospects for future collaboration within the international POPs research community.
