A researcher at the Meteorological Synthesizing Centre – East (MSC-E), Dr. Reza Gholizadeh, contributed to the 2025 Emissions Inventory Conference: Advancing Emissions Inventories through Innovation and Collaboration. The event was hosted virtually by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) from 15 to 18 September 2025. The conference brought together experts from government agencies, research institutions, and international programs to discuss advances in emission inventory methodologies and collaborative approaches that support more accurate emissions data.

Dr. Gholizadeh delivered a presentation titled “Comparative Analysis of Two Global Emission Inventories for Dioxin (PCDD/Fs) Pollutants” which examined methodological differences, sectoral coverage, and spatial-temporal characteristics of two global inventories for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) – EDGAR v6.0 and PKU-LZU. The event offered valuable opportunities for scientific exchange and fostered future collaboration in areas such as inventory uncertainty evaluation, data integration, and inventory-model linkages.
